CXMT is accelerating the reduction of its DDR4 memory chip production capacity. The latest plan is to further halve its remaining production capacity compared to the original target. This move is a strategic decision to follow global industry trends and fully shift resources to next-generation technologies such as DDR5 and HBM (High Bandwidth Memory).
Meanwhile, major manufacturers such as Samsung and SK Hynix have also announced their DDR4 production discontinuation schedules, collectively leading to a continuous shortage of DDR4 supply since mid-2025 and a sharp increase in prices, even resulting in a price inversion with DDR5. This shortage is expected to continue at least until the first half of 2026.
